Hi Chris,
I am sorry you are having trouble with our new website. We are actively trying to
improve the site. There are many issues that are being smoothed out and worked upon. We thank you for your patience as we work hard to improve the functionality of the new site.
Let me try to address your questions and comments:
1. I did managed to listen to another call but could not raise my
hand
I was on a call today and was able to raise my hand. Perhaps the host didn't see that your hand was raised? Or perhaps this issue has been resolved since
it failed for you. If you see the issue again, please let us know.
2. I tried to start a call, but it would not take my pin
number
If you aren't aware, the 10 digit PIN's on the old TalkShoe website no longer work. The new site assigns each registered user a new PIN. An easy way to
see this PIN is to log into the TalkShoe website and then from the front page of the site, click your name in the upper right corner of the screen. A drop down menu appears. Your PIN should be listed there. Please try using that PIN in the future. You can change that PIN in the settings; however, you can't pick your PIN. The PIN is system assigned.
3. When ask to download I received Malware block and could not figure out how to exclude it, like I do with other programs
What are you trying to download? The only thing that you should be able to download are episodes (mp3 files) of your own calls. And that should not trigger a malware block. What malware protection program are you running? What is the message you receive?
4. To me it is overwhelming to figure out how to start a show
We are preparing a user guide. But, until then, here is how to start a show.
First you need to schedule an episode (if you don't have one scheduled already).
To schedule an episode, from the front page,
click the orange "Create" button. A list of your shows (which we used to say were call series) will appear. Click the name of the show you want to schedule an episode for. That show page should appear. Now click the "New Episode" button. Pick a title, date, time, estimated episode duration, episode description (show notes), add any time zones for people that live in other time zones that you want to invite to your episode, and then click Next. Use the current
date and the time automatically listed for an episode you want to schedule for right now. On the next screen, you can optionally email an invitation to people to join your episode. Click Next. On the next screen, choose dial-in phone numbers for people who you are inviting to the call for their geographical area of the world and click Next. Finally click the Schedule button on the summary page. A completed message will appear restating the information about the
episode. Click Close.
