Q&A re Constitution email

Published: Mon, 09/26/16

A good question came in and I wish I had the time to respond to each question and comment but, the fact is I don't.

But this kind of puts it in a nutshell what I was thinking when this court case came to me.
QUESTION

???
So If I read this correctly, bottom line, states can do anything they want outside of the Constitution?  It IS NOT the Supreme Law of the Land as States are free to decide for themselves what the law will be in their state?

MY ANSWER
I don’t believe there is simple answer.
The state’s constitution are bound by the federal constitution and the people are protected first by the state’s constitution that is bound by the federal constitution.
State law trumps federal law, i.e., some states have legalized pot laws, but the feds won’t allow bank accounts for pot dealers, right?
