PAUL RYAN GETS TRUMPED. It appears that Donald Trump's sudden victory in the GOP presidential primary race didn't fit Speaker Paul Ryan's master plan. Politico reports that Ryan was, shall we say, a bit surprised that Cruz abruptly dropped out of the race (followed by Kasich).
"Ryan never expected
Trump to lock up the nomination so quickly. He didn't think Texas Sen. Ted Cruz would drop out of the race in May. In fact, Ryan's orbit was preparing for a contested convention in Cleveland, where he is slated to serve as chairman."
After the Indiana results made it clear Trump was the presumptive nominee, Ryan decided to do an interview on CNN and make his non-endorsement statement. Tipping his hand that he is more
concerned about his personal power than anything else, Ryan's team never communicated with Trump before doing the interview. In fact, Politico reports that Trump's team had already reached out to Team Ryan, seeking a meeting to discuss the way forward to the convention and general election.
HANNITY: "CIRCULAR FIRING SQUAD". Sean Hannity suggested that Ryan's move -- combined with other high-profile rejections of Trump immediately
after the Indiana victory -- was the equivalent of a "circular firing squad" in the GOP. To Hannity, the rejections of Trump were no accident:
"It seems almost coordinated. Both Bushes have declined to endorse Donald Trump; Mitt
Romney saying that he will not go to the convention this year; and then we have Paul Ryan."
Meanwhile Loser Mitt Romney is looking or a third-party alternative, but refuses to put his name in that ring, knowing that he would simply lose... again. That's if anybody even cared.
RYAN CHALLENGER EMERGES. While Ryan wrestles for national control of the GOP, a challenger from the Right
is emerging in his home district (Wisconsin 1). Paul Nehlen -- a local businessman and political outsider -- is calling Ryan out:
"It is petulant, arrogant, disrespectful -- and in many senses dangerous -- to our representative system of government to tell people across this nation who took the time to cast a vote, ‘Sorry, I'm not cool with your choice.' It is for the people to decide who they want to lead, not
for one man or a cabal of party elites."
Nehlen continued...
“Ryan's stance is also incredibly hypocritical. How many times has the Republican establishment insisted that the rest of us put up, shut up, and soldier forward with hand-picked establishment candidates because GOP leaders knew best?"
Nehlen has challenged Ryan to a debate... or even an arm-wrestling match. If Ryan isn't careful, he may find that this massive political wave I've called the CITIZEN REVOLT might just sweep him out of office as well.
RINO
HYPOCRISY. Isn't it interesting how the RINO Establishment has been turned upside down? Some (like Romney) still don't know it. Others (Ryan?) just think they know better.
I seem to recall that in pretty much every presidential election dating back to Reagan, grassroots conservatives were told it was their patriotic duty to vote for the RINO candidates. We were told to help drag the party line across the finish line. Then, when RINOs McCain and Romney
lost, they blamed us for the defeat!
CONSERVATIVES COMING TOGETHER. Despite what you may hear from the political punditry, we are seeing clear evidence that grassroots (voting) conservatives are moving quickly to unify. Grassfire conducted a nationwide poll that asked if it is time to unite behind Trump. To our surprise, more than 85% of those taking the poll agreed that it is time to unify. Just weeks ago, a majority of Grassfire team members supported Ted
Cruz.
Once again, the talking heads are over-thinking everything. Apparently, they get paid to over-think and over-analyze from their lofty perches that cause them to be surprised when The People speak.
WELCOME TO AMERICA, MR. BROOKS. David Brooks -- the alleged token conservative on the New York Times Op-Ed staff -- just announced that he will, in fact, step down from his lofty perch, spend some time with the little people to "get out into the pain."
It's all in an effort to understand what is happening. He writes:
"I was surprised by Trump's success because I've slipped into a bad pattern, spending large chunks of my life in the bourgeois strata — in professional circles with
people with similar status and demographics to my own. It takes an act of will to rip yourself out of that and go where you feel least comfortable."
I just vomited in my mouth.
Welcome to America, Mr. Brooks. As you "get out into the pain," you just might notice that we're losing our country. Major corporations are boycotting a state to force us to allow men into women's bathrooms. Even our sports
networks bludgeon us with the far-left political intolerance. Our president is pushing for hundreds of thousands of immigrants from Muslim-radicalized countries. Violent protestors are disrupting free speech while waving Mexican flags and cheering, "Make America Mexico Again." Meanwhile, the economy is in the doldrums. At last check more than 94 million Americans have dropped out of the workforce. And, oh yeah, that ObamaCare thing? Pain in our necks.
But there is hope, because there are
people like you all across this country who will not sit by silently ever again. Many are choosing Trump. But if Trump betrays us, he will be the next to get trumped.
