Jurisdiction is not something the court gets. Jurisdiction is invoked by the party bringing the action through proper service and minimum contacts requirement to obtain in personam jurisdiction and subject matter is determined by the content of the pleading for which the matter arises. It Is the requirement that a given court has the power to hear a specific
type of matter. We the people invoke the jurisdiction of the court. Always remember the judge is just the third party trier of facts. That’s his job, to weigh the facts to the law. Period!!! The courts are our courts, courts of the people, they are not the courts of the legal profession.
