Presently, we have someone that has been indicted, and to his credit he has wheelbarrows full of evidence that he is not willful.
Given all that, he has hired an attorney and I believe you have an idea how much that's going to cost. However, the attorney is in Alabama and close to retirement. So he has an attorney that he wants to teach what he knows, that now increases the cost on the accused. If that's not bad enough, because the accused lives in South Carolina, and attorney lives in Alabama the attorney needs a local attorney to handle the affairs, for whatever reasons.
Now the accused has three attorneys now imagine how much that's going to cost.
I want you to imagine for a moment if you were placed in that position;
- would you stand up and challenge the indictment without an attorney?
- Would you try to hire an attorney even though you cannot afford one?
- If you could afford an attorney would you want to hire the best you could find in the country?
- Or would you accept a public pretender only to bargain for a light sentence as 99% of the American people do?
